What Is a Compiler

Programming is the act and the process of building codes together to form a real application that can be used by many users worldwide. In computing, there are lots of applications that are developed to assist users.

There are two main categories, thus, Operating System Software and Application software. However, other utility applications aid customers or suit their main and personal needs.

Programming on the other hand is a complex and challenging task or field, but it can also be very interesting and rewarding as you go along with it.

What Is a Compiler

A Compiler is known by all developers and users as a program that also assists developers to translate a program written in one programming language, thus the source code, into another programming language, that is also the target language.

Compilers assist programmers to develop and build code into something instructional adding users to comprehend and work with.

A few examples of compilers are:

  • GCC
  • Clang
  • Visual Studio etc
