Nathaniel Bassey is known to be one of the international and national Nigerian gospel singers, also a famous songwriter, pastor, and exceptionally, a great trumpeter. Nathaniel Bassey is from Ikot Ofon Ikono, Uyo local government area Akwa-Ibom state, south-south Nigeria. Nathaniel Bassey was born on the 27th day of August 1981, in Lagos Nigeria.
Nathaniel holds a degree in politics and international relations from the University of London, Nathaniel also went further in studying music and music business at the Middlesex University summer school in the UK. Nathaniel started his career by playing jazz at parties and shows, this made him join Spectrum 4, a top jazz quartet in Lagos.
Nathaniel Bassey rose to prominence as a jazzman when he received an invitation from elder Steve Rhodes to lead an orchestra (THE RHODES STEVE ORCHESTRA). Nathaniel Bassey is also a youth pastor and a music director at the Redeemed Christian church of God
Nathaniel Bassey has been inspired by Dr. Panam Percy Paul, a prominent Nigerian gospel music icon over the years, and has made his passion for music grow in a tremendous way. on the journey of making the right decision in his life, Nathaniel sought the face of the lord under the mentorship and guidance of the late pastor Eskor Mfor.
Nathaniel Bassey is happily married to his wife, Sarah Bassey on the 14th day of April 2013 and they were blessed with two beautiful children. Nathaniel Bassey’s songs have been a blessing and inspiration to many souls and also mentors to many youths.
