How to create, add content and save a file in DOS

Uploading content to a file immediately after it has been created is the process of creating a file. The commands listed below demonstrate how to create a file, add content, and save it to the computer.

How to create a file

  • type at the command prompt copy con
  • enter or feed the file name, for example, John
  • press the enter key once

How to add content to a file

  • type the content for example, doing the most good in disk operating system
  • press the enter key right after adding the file content

How to save a file in DOS

  • press the fn+6 or
  • press the Function key 6

Good job! This saves the file after the creation.
