Updating a system makes the hardware and/or the older version of the application very strong, thus requiring security patches and fixes.
Open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) or Command Prompt (Windows key + R, then type cmd and press Enter).
Apply the below commands and syntax. depending on your operating system:
For Ubuntu or Debian-based Linux distributions, type:

For Fedora Linux, type:

For CentOS or RHEL Linux, type:

If there are any available updates, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update process.
Note:
Keep in mind that for some older Linux distributions or Windows versions, you may need to add or modify repositories in order to receive updates. It’s also recommended to create a backup of your system before performing any updates, especially for major versions, as there may be times when a rollback to a previous version is necessary.
