How to Save A Microsoft Word Document With A Password
There are security measures that most often users forget to assign to their document for future reference and authentication sake. A file and or a document can be protected and saved with a password using the below precise steps:
- After the document has been typed and appropriately indented or arranged, click on File
- Select and click on Save As for the first time
- Type the filename, for example, John
- Select a location where you want to save your file, for example, local disk C, Flash drive, My Documents Folder, Desktop, etc
- Click on Tools
- Select and click on General Options
- Type a password to open
- Press the enter key once
- Repeat the same process by entering the same password
- Finally, click on the Save button to save the file/document.
Note:
Do not forget the password and it must be written somewhere safe. Forgetting the password leads to the loss of the content of the particular file or document.
