In Microsoft Disk Operating System, folders are called Directory. Creating a directory in DOS is different from that using Windows( any version). For instance, creating a directory carries the command such as:
md directory
Press the enter key once.
The syntax md above tells the computer to make a directory. Folders, likewise directories, help users to keep files and other subfolders. Folders, in Microsoft Windows, are always in yellow colour, thus the default colour.
Creating A Subfolder In A Main Folder
To create a subfolder, follow the below steps:
- Create the main folder in which you want to create a subfolder
- Double-click on the main folder to open it
- Right-click on an empty space within the main folder
- Choose New Folder
- Assign a name to the folder
- Click outside the folder or press the return key once.
To create an additional folder in the current one, perform the above tasks to reach an additional folder, thus double-clicking and performing the aforementioned.
