How to save a file

In computing, files are set of characters and entities that form a document, however, a file can or may contain music features, movie features, or even a text file. Files, however, can be created in most forms and are capable of serving the required purposes given to them.

In other words, it can be defined as an organized collection of facts making a collective entity to be handled and stored in the computer system for future use.

How to save a file

There are many ways through which a user or an individual can save a file in the computer system. Below is the following list provided:

  • A file can be saved to My computer in the C drive
  • It can also be saved to the My Document folder
  • Files as organized can or may also be saved to a personal folder created on any location such as a Desktop or to an external drive or Flash drive.
  • Files, however, can also be saved to the could-based system for an entity or an individual.

To Save a file:

  1. In Ms. Word processing application, click on the file
  2. From the file menu, click on Save As
  3. Type a preferred name for the file
  4. Locate where you want to save the file
  5. Click on Save
