WHAT ARE THE 4 NEW SPORTS FOR THE 2024 OLYMPICS?
The five new sports added to the 2024 Olympics game are as follows:
Breaking:
Breaking is a dancing style that originated in the USA in the year 1970. It was performed at a lively party in the Bronx, generated from hip-hop culture and was categorized as an acrobatic movement with stylized footwork and the important role played by the DJ and MC during battles.
After barely five years of recognition as a level sport in France, breaking is moving triumphantly into Paris at the 2024 Olympic Games. There are 32 athletes that are qualified for the game: 16 B-girls and 16 B-boys will take part in the competition at the iconic Place de la Concorde on the 9th and 10th days of August.
Sport climbing:
Sport climbing is the process of climbing a single or multiple-angle route with firmly fixed bolts and anchors pierced into a rock, thereby making use of a rope and the support of a belayer.
For the upcoming Olympic game, the Parc Sportif et Scolaire du Bourget has been renovated for the occasion close to the Stade de France and the Aquatic Centre, which is the epicentre of the Paris game.
This game will be played by the world’s most talented climbers from August 5th to 10th, 2024, and will include scaling a 15-meter wall in less than 6 seconds or climbing a 4.5-meter wall without a rope.
Skateboarding:
Skateboarding is a sport in which participants perform stunts while riding a skateboard. In California in the late 1940s, the skateboard was invented as an alternative to surfing on flat waves.
Skateboarding has developed into a popular recreational sport that millions of people worldwide participate in today. A variety of skateboarding styles exist, including the waveboard, old school skateboard, electric skateboard, skateboarding bag, and skateboarding wheels.
The skateboarding Olympic Games 2024 will commence on the 27th and 28th of July 2024 for street events and on the 6th and 7th of August 2024 for park events at the Place de la Concorde, which will metamorphose into a temple of urban sports for the Paris Games.
Surfing:
Surfing is a sport in which participants ride waves while standing or lying flat. Surfing is done by catching the oceans, rivers, and man-made waves and also gliding across the surface of the water till they break and lose their energy.
Spinning waves, surging waves, collapsing waves, and plunging waves are the four different types of surfing waves. Surfing originated in Hawaii; it has been in existence since the 15th century. Surfing events will take place on the 27th and 30th of July 2024 in Paris. The venue is at Teahupo’o
